The Magic Plate

Childs Healthy Eating Plate, all the statistics on childhood obesity are both enlightening and very concerning. If parents do not get their childrens eating habits under control at a younger age and current trends persist then by 2020 it is predicted that 50 percent of all children will be obese.

So, with that in mind, we have produced a Healthy Eating Plate which we have called The MAGIC Plate for kids aged 3 to 10 years old. Girls can carry on using this plate as long as they have weight to lose but boys should move to the male plate when they start to experience rapid growth spurts and reach puberty.

The plate gives the correct portion sizes for a healthy child who is enjoying some fatty and suggary snacks in their diet too. However, if a child is carrying too much weight using this plate and cutting out the fatty or suggary snacks will induce weight loss.

Once the child has achieved an ideal weight to height ratio, it is fine to slowly re-introduce healthy snacks to his or her diet again.

The calibrations on this plate are the same as the female version. So, if you prefer the design, you too can use it with your child to help them understand how it works.
